War with Venice - onto Ragusa

Leaving a small garrison in Durazzo, and marching northwards with his depleted forces, Kaisar quickly finds another Venetian force, slightly smaller than him but led by the Doge Domenico himself! Kaisar attacks without hesitation.

The Venetians draw up at the foot of a mountain, to await out force, which advances steadily in a line, sending out our cavalry to guard out left flank

As the Doge sees our cavalry units begin to deploy to pepper him with their arrows, his plan quickly changes, and they double-march towards our main body. Their attack is well executed and for fear of hitting my own men, the cavalry cease shooting.

The attack almost breaks through the line, but our fearless general plugs and gap until the cavalry can charge up the hill and annihilate the enemy force. The brave Venetian Doge trapped under his horse, and we capture him. The battlefield is ours, and the road to Ragusa is open.

The Venetian dogs refuse to pay for their noble leader, a life thrown away for the want of but twelve thousand florins.

Meanwhile our loyal emissary in Italy continues his good work, making alliance with the Milanese, but instead of going into France as previously planned, he will turn southwards to meet with the Pope and the Sicilians.

Taking some time to acknowledge our progress, we notice significant improvement, especially against our foes.

Our advisors and the nobles in Constantinople must be pleased, as they suggest a widening of our efforts, to include Adana, which controls the Cilician Gates. This will surely be of strategic importance in regaining the Holy City of Jerusalem!

While we besiege Ragusa, and cut it's supplies off from its port as well, reinforcements continue their march northwards.

We also make the decision to send an expedition eastwards, via Nicosia to take Adana before the Turks seize it.
